Travis Young, CPO, Managing Partner
Travis is an ABC Certified Prosthetist Orthotist who has grown up in the O&P family and has been extremely active since a very young age. Travis’ father, Jim, is an amputee and Prosthetist with whom inspired Travis to enter into the profession. His dad lost his left leg above the knee due to a motorcycle accident a few years before Travis was born and is all he has ever known. His dad, like a lot of amputee’s, did not always have the best care. He had numerous issues with the fit and comfort of his socket, leading to constant falls and pain. Once his dad found a Prosthetist who was able to make a device that was tailored to him, his activities, and was comfortable to wear, he went to school and became a Prosthetist himself and in 2005 opened his own Practice, along side his wife Pam, in Tifton, Georgia, which has now grown into 3 locations across central and south Georgia.
Travis began helping his dad in the lab when he was just 7 years old and by the time he opened his practice in June of 2005 Travis was in the 8th grade and began working everyday after school and throughout his high school and college years whenever possible. Travis started from the ground up in his fathers practice, sweeping floors, taking out the trash, and assisting in whatever was needed from him, eventually working into patient care along side his dad. In 2011, Travis obtained his Certified Prosthetic Assistant credential through The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics. He is a Graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelors of Science in Sport Management and California State University-Dominguez Hills with his Masters of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics. While in school at California State, Travis met his wife Jacy Young, CPO, whose mother is an above knee amputee as well.
Travis spent hundreds of hours volunteering/shadowing at various clinics, including Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, where learning under a variety of people/organizations has allowed him to expand his skillset and knowledge. After completing his Orthotic Residency in Bakersfield, CA, Travis joined Capstone Orthopedic at their Fresno location to complete his Prosthetic Residency in 2018 and has remained with Capstone ever since. Both of Travis’ Residencies were completed at NCOPE accredited facilities. Travis has been certified through The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics.
Travis has made it a priority to give back to the Orthotic and Prosthetic community and has volunteered for organizations such as: OPAF & The First Clinics, Georgia State Amputee Golf Tournament, Challenged Athletes Foundation, The College Park Extremity Games, and attends the AOPA Policy Forum to advocate for the rights of Orthotic and Prosthetic users with important legislative action. Travis has been a member of the Board of Directors for The Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation (OPAF) since 2017, serving as the Treasurer of the organization from 2018-2020 and served as the President of the Organization from 2020-2023.

Jacy is one of our ABC Certified Prosthetist Orthotist’s (CPO) who obtained her bachelor’s degree from Fresno Pacific University (FPU) and her master’s degree from California State University-Dominguez Hills (CSUDH).
Jacy grew up on a small farm in the central valley and would spend many hours sitting on her dad’s work bench watching him work. She had her own tiny set of screw drivers, and would find any excuse to use them. Jacy always enjoyed working on projects and helping her dad around the farm, especially if it meant that she would be able to uses power tools.
Jacy was inspired by her mother, Jill, to enter the orthotic and prosthetics (O&P) profession. Jill battled bone cancer before Jacy was born, which resulted in a right above knee amputation. Growing up, Jacy always thought it was normal to have a mom with a prosthesis and has always been inspired by her mother because she never let her amputation stop her from working hard and achieving her dreams. Jacy gives all the credit to her mom for guiding her toward this amazing profession and to help make a positive impact on others.

During her undergraduate studies, Jacy began shadowing at O&P Facilities to gain a better understanding of the profession. She fell in love with O&P because it gave her the opportunity to work with patients while also being able to create devices and use her mechanical skills. She is so thankful that her dad always encouraged her to not be afraid to use tools and be creative as it allowed her to step into a male dominant field of work without being intimidated. Jacy and Travis met during their graduate studies at CSUDH, after which Jacy started her residency with Advanced Prosthetics (A Capstone Orthopedic Company) in Fresno and continued working there for 5 years before her and Travis started their own business in Merced. Jacy joined the O&P profession with the goal to provide hope to those who feel hopeless. “So many patients walk into an O&P facility feeling defeated because they know they will have to use an orthotic or prosthetic device and being unsure of their potential and I feel that if I can give each person a little encouragement and hope, then that makes waking up and going to work every day worth it,” stated Jacy.
